The Quiet Rebrand of the Career Change
Pivots, burnout, second acts: GlassFrog founder Larissa Hawkins has built a coaching and culture practice for people rethinking how they work — and November is when most of us start.
By S/ME
November has a habit of making people honest about their working lives. The year is nearly counted, the January job boards are still weeks away, and somewhere between the two sits the question that GlassFrog exists to answer: is this actually working for me?
GlassFrog is the practice built by Larissa Hawkins, who appeared on the cover of last month's issue. Its work falls into two halves. The first is one-to-one career coaching for people at a crossroads: those considering a pivot, recovering from burnout, weighing up self-employment, or navigating ADHD in a career context. The second is culture consultancy for organisations that want to build workplaces people genuinely choose to stay in, rather than ones they quietly plan their escape from.
The coaching is deliberately built on depth rather than volume. Career change is rarely a logistics problem; it is usually a confidence problem wearing a logistics costume. The sessions are designed to untangle the two — to separate what someone actually wants from what they have been told they should want, and to build a route between the present job and the honest answer.
The burnout work sits close to the centre of the practice. GlassFrog works with people who have hit the wall that modern working culture politely declines to mention, and helps them come back with a working life designed so the wall does not simply get rebuilt in the same place.

The Badge on the Door
GlassFrog also runs the Career-Change Considerate Employer Badge, a scheme for forward-thinking organisations that want to signal openness to candidates with broader, non-linear backgrounds — the retrainers, the returners, the people whose CVs read like a good story rather than a straight line. For employers, the badge marks them out to a pool of motivated, experienced applicants that traditional hiring filters routinely discard. For candidates, it answers the question they are usually too polite to ask in an interview: will my winding path count against me here?
That scheme, together with the culture consultancy, makes GlassFrog unusual among career practices. It works both sides of the desk — coaching the individual through the change, and helping organisations become the kind of place worth changing to.
For anyone whose end-of-year reflection is pointing somewhere new, the starting point is a conversation. Coaching packages, consultancy details and the employer badge scheme are all at weareglassfrog.com.
